Supporting Educators with Resources That Work
The Mental Health Literacy Collaborative (MHLC) is dedicated to integrating mental health literacy into educational systems and communities. Their mission focuses on four key components: fostering positive mental health, understanding mental health disorders and treatments, learning effective help-seeking strategies, and reducing stigma. Through initiatives in advocacy, content research, and policy guidance, MHLC aims to address systemic challenges in mental health education, ensuring that individuals are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for mental well-being.
MentalHealthInstruction.org is a non-commercial initiative by Chad’s Legacy Project, developed in collaboration with the University of Washington SMART Center, aimed at integrating mental health education into schools nationwide. The platform offers a curated library of rigorously vetted curricula and presentations, focusing on mental health literacy, social and emotional learning, substance misuse awareness, and suicide prevention. By providing these resources, the initiative seeks to reduce stigma, enhance peer support, and improve student well-being. Educators can access and implement these programs to foster healthier, more emotionally intelligent school communities.
